Trader Joe's podcast

Post by SamSpade »

... they never really let anyone in on the fact that TJ's is part of a larger family owned company, maybe to not have to mention the letters A-L-D-I?

They do spend a decent amount of time in episode 2 "It's About Values" highlighting that TJ's CEO title has only been held by 3 individuals and that stores are somewhat autonomous to be a "store of the neighborhood."

But, here are some highlights this Forbes contributor chose to spotlight:
15 Revelations From Trader Joe's Podcast, From The Parking Lots To Deer Stew

I have been listening to these on this quiet Labor Day after hearing a funding credit / underwriting announcement as part of NPR's nationwide broadcast this afternoon.

The two companies are owned by parts of the same family, but are separate as companies.

In their home area, there is an Aldi Nord and Aldi Sud.

One owns Trader Joe in the US, the other owns the Aldi stores in the US.

So, related by family lines, but not connected as companies.
