Kroger Stores starts a "fearless flyer" competitor

Post by SamSpade »

This is clearly a riff on the Trader Joe's Fearless Flyer...
The Kroger Co. Treasure EmporiYum (note, this is a PDF link)

Just in case you may have never seen a TJ's Fearless Flyer, here is one:
(goes out once a month in the mail if you are close enough to a Trader Joe's store)
Fearless Flyer (online / a bit different in print)

I noticed the tags in the store for this program during the holidays and wondered what is is about. I still have not seen any displays in the stores, just shelf tags on the regular item locations.

I will be interested to see where this goes. Kroger has come up with a number of great private label items over the years that I really liked and that ended up discontinued. I always felt the items were simply just "crowded out" by all of the other items. It will also be interesting to see how this works at Ralphs, Fred Meyer, and QFC which have an "abbreviated" selection of private label goods compared to the rest of Kroger.
