Walgreens has begun advertising wine and beer in their weekly ads in the Walnut Creek, California area. Apparently the store reorganization was in preparation for alcohol sales. The competing drug stores in the area include Rite Aid and CVS which have quite a big selection of alcohol.

I finally saw the alcohol selection at Walgreens. The selection is terrible. They only had a small selection of beer and wine. The beer section fit into a small portion of the open refrigerator section. They apparently got rid of some of the refrigerated food. The wine selection was very limited and took up only part of one aisle. It is nothing compared to what Rite Aid and CVS offer.
