Rite Aid 3D Rewards Kiosk

I finally found one of the 3D Rewards Kiosks that Rite Aid claimed that they would roll out years ago. It was at a Rite Aid store in Martinez, California. The kiosk has a 3D screen at the top that shows 3D moving images of products. You do not need 3D glasses to see the 3D effects. There is a second touch screen below where you can select coupons to print. You can also scan your rewards card or enter a phone number to receive additional rewards coupons.

The 3D effects really pop out of the screen at you. The colors are not quite as color accurate as real life, but for a moment it was like Star Wars had come to life. You can see a drug store product floating in the air and spin around. They are sort of like the holograms in The Empire Strikes Back, but with better resolution. I wish I could have taken a photo, but for some reason you have to line yourself up just right to get the 3D effect.

They have a few of these kiosks sitting around, but where escapes me. I think I saw one somewhere in SoCal. There also might be one in Quincy. I always wondered why they did not roll more out.

There is one of these kiosks in Quincy, CA. It has no paper in the printer and the 3D thing up on the top does not seem to work.

I don't think there are any of these kiosks around Sacramento yet they brought one out to Quincy of all places...

I can't say that I have seen those at any Rite Aid in Washington or Oregon. Were they limited to California?
