While I haven't seen merchandise being removed and replaced by displays like that, I have been noticing signs of neglect. Worn countertops at the checkouts have become a common sight, as have dirty floors. In some there is a wear pattern due to the floors not being stripped and polished regularly.

I used to prefer Walgreens over Rite Aid, but lately Rite Aid seems to be on a roll with remodels and improving the general appearance of the stores. Walgreens seems to be going the other way lately.
