Duane Reade's New Flagship

Walgreens opened a brand new Duane Reade flagship store.

It looks like Walgreens wants to capture upscale cosmetics sales. The store is really fancy looking like an upscale beauty salon.

There are also prepared food sections with items such as sushi. The store looks like it carries a bigger selection of organic and natural foods as well as a beer cooler section.

It looks like Walgreens is going to operate Duane Reade as an "island" of sorts from the rest of its store base similar to how it runs the San Francisco Stores. This is very wise of them.
