See the story here: Wal-Mart Stores announces plans for new headquarters in Bentonville
Walmart announced this morning plans for a massive new corporate campus to be built in the Southeast side of Bentonville. They will be removing several older buildings and facilities, purchasing over 31 acres. The current facility is outdated and is a patchwork of buildings built over the last 47 years. This will take place over the next several years.

Re: Walmart to build new Home Office facility
I watched a documentary on Wal-Mart years ago. The company was always frugal. They kept their original and cramped headquarters to save money.
When they sent their top executives on business trips they made executives share a cheap motel room just to save money.
They finally realized that they need to spend money to improve productivity at their cramped and disorganized headquarters.
