J.C. Penney delays closing 138 stores one month due to stronger sales
Guess they wanted a month longer to see what local communities did / if they need to funnel the entire company's "dead / clearance" merchandise into these stores. . .

I think they are just doing things to try to get attention.
It will be interesting to see if they decide not to close a few stores. Lease renegotiation processes or similar could save a few locations.
