Fingers crossed. I remember how Swamplot had a tip that the Randalls office was being shuttered and everyone was moving to Dallas in 2013, but that was never true. It remained in Houston and is now the ABS Houston division.

The store on Campbell Road in Richardson, TX is also closing. Final day in March 10th, and at least half of the merchandise (including all Sprint products) have been sent back. This is one of only a few Radioshack locations left in DFW, which is ironic considering that their longtime headquarters was in Fort Worth.

And probably would have been even longer if Tandy had his way in the early days :)

Maybe they just needed a new Tandy to keep things running (after all, most of us may never have heard of Radio Shack without him).

The seeds of RadioShack's decline were laid with Charles David Tandy's untimely death. He was one of the all-time great retailers.

I was at a Radio Shack today in Reno, NV on East Plumb Lane. There was very little Radio Shack merchandise, but no sign of liquidation.

Looks like it's all over for RadioShack, though most would say it really died two years ago...all the telltale signs of imminent liquidation are in place.

They do have liquidation signs now up at the Longview, WA store. I have the feeling it's finally over.

Radio Shack has been a pretty useless chain for several years. They decided to focus on cell phone sales while pretty much ignoring every other aspect of their stores.

Drove by the Radio Shack in Sparks, NV today on Oddie Blvd. It is a true "Radio SHACK." This is not a great neighborhood, but has remained fairly stable over the last 20 years, or an area with much retail, but somehow this store has made it through everything. Until now- total liquidation sale signs posted today.

Standard General is closing roughly 200 stores; bankruptcy filing expected Tuesday (3/7.) But can a slightly smaller chain make it without a fulfillment center, headquarters staff or a rich partner (Sprint)?

Well, it took a couple more days, but the filing has finally occurred. 187 stores have already closed or are in the process of closing; another 365 stores will go to Sprint or close, and the rest may be liquidated.
