Sadly, Ruby's Diner on Huntington Beach Pier permanently closed on Friday. The chain had recently renewed its lease for another 15 years, but sold it during its bankruptcy proceedings.

Yes, the food at Ruby's is mediocre and the chain represents Old California, but it was nice to have an option where you could enjoy inexpensive family dining with scenic views. It'll most likely reopen as some exotic, overpriced Asian-inspired eatery...

Supposedly the new restaurant will be a seafood focused restaurant. Ruby's was pretty expensive for what it offered.
