Market Street coming to Midlothian?

Post by pseudo3d »

There's been some concern here at RetailWatchers if United Supermarkets would build another store in Dallas, much less the South Dallas suburbs. That seems to be actually coming true with a new Market Street proposed in Midlothian down the road from a proposed H-E-B. The only catch right now for the 80,000 square foot store (it's big, good thing!) is it would sell alcohol near a school (requiring special permits). This seems like great news for United Supermarkets so far....

This is an interesting and exciting development! Hopefully, the Market Street brand is ultimately used for this store, as it would likely be the banner best poised to compete with the forthcoming HEB down the street. Interestingly, this is the only Market Street outside of the northern DFW suburbs, so it will be interesting to see how it does performance-wise, especially since there is potentially a lower brand awareness to the south.
