Walmart eliminating greeters?
I have noticed, on my last several visits to the west Longview, WA Walmart, that the store has had no greeters present at either entrance. I have visited at several different times of the day including weekends. Walmart has always had greeters at the entrance as far as I can remember, even in the Supercenter format. Is this happening elsewhere, perhaps as a cost-cutting move? Most of their competitors do not have greeters present.

Re: Walmart eliminating greeters?
Walmart changed the role of the people greeter a few months ago. Instead of being the door guard, they are now supposed to roam near the cash registers steering customers in different directions and answering questions. Not the brightest move, if you ask me. The whole reason behind the PG position was to put someone at the door to watch over it.
