New/Unique CVS prototype interior

Post by submariner »

Thus is probably, unfortunately, a one-off interior for CVS' Las Vegas Strip store, but it's a very vibrant and appealing interior I'd like to see spread across the chain, getting rid of those tacky cardboard signs they currently use

The merchandise mix looks a lot better than their usual offering too.

Aside from the souvenir section, it really wasn't too dissimilar from a run-of-the-mill CVS, and it was about the same size, too.

The beverage area looks a lot better than what I've seen in the CVS built stores up here, too.

I haven't seen them remodel any Longs yet, but I assume that is coming.

This Las Vegas store was opened in November of 2002. It incorporated a few features that were found in the CVS experimental store in Ridgefield, Connecticut. The wood grain vinyl tile flooring was a test. They used the standard CVS carpeting in only part of the store. The windows in the store were made larger than regular CVS stores because they wanted to see what effect more natural light would do to the shopping experience. The photo department is also much bigger in this store than in standard CVS stores. However, it seems that most of these features have not been added to new CVS stores during the last 7 years.

I think that the look of the Las Vegas store is really nice and they should add this decor to more of their stores. It would make the shopping experience much more enjoyable.

Walgreen is rolling out a new decor package. Perhaps CVS will take notice and decide to upgrade their decor as well.

Walgreens new decor is an upgrade from their old decor, but that is not saying much.

To say Rite Aid's decor is nicer is an understatement...
