Re: Sierra Madre Albertsons Closing
Based on the 1988 era interior I don't think this closure is necessarily surprising or a loss.
I think Pacific NW Division is far worse than SoCal Division.

Re: Sierra Madre Albertsons Closing
first of possibly many closures of underperforming vons, safeway, and albertsons stores in the next year for the northwest and socal!!

I was surprised to see that store is still open. That was one of the Fazio's locations Albertson's acquired when they bought them out in 1978. And I'm sure the store was pretty old then.

Re: Sierra Madre Albertsons Closing
There have been several supermarket closures in the area in recent years, and none of them seem to have found new tenants.
- The large Albertson's on Azusa Ave. (opened as a Smith's) in Covina-- empty
The large Albertson's in Monrovia (opened as a Lucky-Sav-on; originally a Kmart was there)-- empty
Mike's Foods in Duarte (originally an Alpha Beta, I believe.) -- empty
