Pattison Food Group is only in Western Canada.
Until 2013, Save-On-Foods was mostly in BC and northern Alberta. Save-On took advantage of Sobeys botching their Safeway Canada purchase by expanding into Southern Alberta (building aggressively in Calgary), and then Saskatchewan/Manitoba (their territory goes as far east as Winnipeg).

@storewanderer Perhaps Pattison will go into a “merger of equals” with Save Mart.
As for Market of Choice, I just wonder if Raley’s would be another suitor.
The thing is Save Mart is a far stronger operator than Pattison Group with stronger pricing, stronger merchandising, stronger private label program, basically stronger everything... and Save Mart isn't exactly a strong operator...

I think Raleys could make Market of Choice better/more productive and improve its merchandising by doing some things to center store/meat. They could also take the Market of Choice format and roll it to these awful Raleys ONE Stores (including the various store prep/scratch made bakery/deli items Market of Choice has). But given how Raleys seems to have a real pride thing going on with Raleys ONE, they'd take the awful Raleys ONE format and roll that out to Market of Choice and kill all of what is good about Market of Choice.
