Store was empty in October...
There is a Target CVS almost across the street. Yet CVS is referring customers to a different CVS about 3/4 mile away.
What doesn't add up is this CVS even as recently as last summer was open until Midnight and had mostly self checkout. If you have high theft why are you open until Midnight and having mostly self checkout?
It seems more like they decided they didn't want the store anymore, quit sending it merchandise, and try to blame it on theft.
DC empty CVS to close

Re: DC empty CVS to close
What doesn't add up here with this CVS is shoplifters do not shoplift EVERYTHING. The entire store should not be empty. I could see cosmetics 80% empty, batteries gone, jerky gone, Tide gone, but this store they were just flat not restocking anything.
Shoplifters don't steal things like bottled water, boxes of cereal, or little loose bottles of soda for instance, in quantities enough to "wipe entire shelves clean" but those October CVS videos on Youtube show a store with empty coolers, empty cereal aisle, 100% empty in various categories.
Also why should shoplifters bother with this place when there is a Target and a Best Buy across the road? Unless CVS was just a complete open door or it was some kind of an inside job.
I broadly agree that theft is causing some stores to close but in this particular instance it seems like the blame on theft is inappropriate and there is some other factor at play.
