I seem to recall hearing that the separate food departments were present in the White Front stores as well, but have only seen a few pictures of one of those so I can't tell for sure.

The owner of the Yard Birds property is cleaning out what was left in the building and has invited the public to take what is left for free:

OOF. What a tragic story. At least 2 of the 3 mentioned businesses were able to relocate and survive. 8 years is a long time in that location (both referenced 2014-22), so they really must have trusted the landlord.

Reading about the rust and oxidation issues for AllTech, I can only imagine what happens to some former retail buildings in the true southern U.S. when the electricity (HVAC) is turned off.

Awful. But this is a wise idea to get the public to show up and help the clean out. Imagine the labor and trash hauling cost to complete this task based on those photos... it'll still be a huge cost, unless the stuff just all sits there until the building gets the wrecking ball... But tenants leaving stuff isn't uncommon. Hundreds of fully fixtured Rite Aid stores sitting around where everything was left except the shopping carts and computers.
