Finishing out a Vons store isn't what they were referring to, it was a new from-the-ground up store.

The Blue Diamond Albertsons is laid out like an Albertsons. Layout is nothing like a Vons. It may be a Vons shell but it is not a Vons floor plan in there at all.

Actually the layout is more like a 70's Skaggs Alpha Beta than anything else.

Albertsons and Vons have started running joint ads. This happened in Colorado some months before they decided to rebrand them all to Safeway. Interested to see if they finally kill off the Vons banner here in Las Vegas.
