Publix should be able to make an effective impact in the supermarket segment in the Richmond area against Food Lion, Kroger, and Walmart Neighborhood Market. Publix's impact is dependent how soon it completes and reopens its acquired Martin's stores.

Publix Super Markets announced its 15th Publix store in Virginia. It will locate in the former Martin's #6402, Monticello Marketplace, 4660 Monticello Avenue, Williamsburg, Virginia 23188-8200, in James City County.
Publix could be springing into the Hampton Roads area.
