To be fair the Save Mart closing in San Jose has a Lucky directly across the street so that makes some sense to consolidate those operations.

Not sure about the closure of the Santa Clara Lucky... thought that was a good volume store by their standards. The lease cost probably got too high for them to turn a profit with their medium volume.

The Santa Clara store is still a Save Mart, not unless they rebranded recently. Looks like neither of them were former NorCal Albertsons stores.

Both are former Frys. After this there will be only one Frys left with the S-Mart Banner (Lodi) and two Frys left with the Lucky banner (Antioch). Former Frys are store number 2xx in the Save Mart system. Stores numbered 3xx are former Lucky Stores purchased in the 90's. Stores numbered 4xx are Food Maxx purchased from Fleming. Stores numbered which are former Albertsons LLC Stores are 5xx (Nevada), 6xx (non bay area), and 7xx (bay area).
