Riverpark Square and Downtown Spokane Macy's

This is old new now but has not been mentioned here yet. But the shuttered Macy's in Downtown Spokane has been purchased by the Cowles Company owned Centennial Development, which developed the current incarnation of Riverpark Square. As Macy's, the store was touted as being a anchor for Riverpark although it was separate ownership but connected to the mall via skybridge. While I am quite positive it will keep that physical connection, I am not sure if it will carry the Riverpark Square name. But it looks to me that this new development will make Riverpark more of a destination for upscale stores compared to Northtown or Spokane Valley Mall. But it is also interesting to see Downtown Spokane go from 5 downtown department stores to one. Back in the mid 1990's there was, Nordstrom, The Bon Marche, The Crescent/Frederick & Nelson, JC Penney and Lamont's. Now it just has the new Nordy's.
