"City staff received a letter from Petrovich on July 13 indicating that he is withdrawing the Rite Aid project located at Sixth and Main. The reason cited was Rite Aid’s decision to discontinue additional stores."

It would be interesting to see if this only applies to new operations or whether it affects any planned relocations since as many as five former PayLess Drug legacy locations in the Silicon Valley(two in San Jose and one apiece in Cupertino,Mountain View, and Sunnyvale)are slated to be replaced by new 'Customer World' units.I do believe that the 'new' Vallejo store(replacing a 1970-ish PayLess)is almost complete, and the most recent new store in the immediate Sacramento area was the 'new' East Elk Grove store(SWC Elk Grove/Waterman)which opened several months ago.The Marconi store(opened about this time a year ago)was the most recent relocation locally(replacing a tiny store on Whitney that until fall 2004 was the independent Whitney Village Pharmacy)...
For your life,Thrifty and Payless have got it.
