Nice visual post from HEB_Obsessed

Post by SamSpade »

I'm going to try to lighten the mood a little.

It looks like she has a lot of interesting little videos, but this one is of the legacy H-E-B that has a mock storefront of the original store and then a 2 story (?) regular store behind it with a veloport for carts up to the 2nd level and retro signs inside. Seems like a nice way to honor the legacy and have a good store at the same time.

I guess the closest thing regionally at this point could be the "Burlingame" Fred Meyer store. I can't think of anything similar at any of the Utah-based grocers and Albertsons rebuilt at 16th and State in Boise but it just looks like most other ABS at this point if I recall.

Very cool store! Love the retro treatment in front! Looks a little art deco with some streamline moderne.

That two story entrance thing reminds me of the very pretty Vons Hillcrest - Mission Hills area store.

Great blend of history with a large modern store.

Store looks pretty quiet for a HEB, they must have videoed it at 7 AM or something.
