A proposed site plan for what would become the first Buc-ee's location in North Carolina has been submitted to the city of Mebane for a site on Trollingwood Road next to the combined I-40/I-85 corridor. The plan calls for a 75,440 square foot store and up to 120 gas pumps A PDF of the proposed site plan can be found in the article. This is their second attempt to build a store along this corridor after a previous proposal was withdrawn a few miles east in Efland after meeting with opposition.

At least when they show up, gas prices in the surrounding area fall.

True. I forget where I stopped this summer, I think it was the Bucees in Daytona Beach, but there's a Sam's Club on the other side of the highway and Bucee's was matching their price, which was already probably the lowest along the whole I-95 corridor in FL.
