From the Dallas Morning News, and their retail dedicated reporter, Maria Halkias.

If that is paywalled, let me know. I actually subscribe to their excellent product. Worth the little over $8/month.

That's interesting because Houston (also growing) purged like 3-4 stores last year, and they weren't particularly oversaturated.

Sprouts seems to call every market they open new stores in a "growth market." Didn't we just have a post about some east coast metro being a "growth market" for them too?

Good writing doesn't change fiction into truth.
By definition, if they're adding a location then it's a "growth market." That doesn't mean a thing otherwise. Their new shoebox size format with shelf-ready meat and frozen seafood being handled next to deli foods and the bakery (all by the same workers) is not appealing and degrades their already tarnished brand. The more of those they add, the less growth they'll see in any market.

Stock price hit $50+. I don't think we get it. Clearly they know what they are doing. Because, stock price, record high.

I didn't get it with Albertsons in the late 90's either. And we see where that went.

Too much emphasis on Wall Street and what they say is good often mismatches what is going on with operations on the ground.

Wall Street being happy does not often mean the Company is doing anything right.
