Major upgrade to phpBB software
I've just completed a major upgrade to the phpBB software to version 3.1.5. This should offer some new features and enhanced security. Please let me know if you run into any problems with this new software. Thanks!

Re: Major upgrade to phpBB software
There was an unannounced upgrade today with what looks like new forum code and new behaviors. Not a huge fan, don't like a floating menu bar that hovers even as I scroll down the page, color scheme is borderline eye-burning, and I used to be able to login from the main page...now I can't.

There are multiple color scheme options for this new design. There should be a setting somewhere to allow each user to change their preference, or even use the older style. I'll dig into it and let you know.

Re: Major upgrade to phpBB software
Thanks! I actually had started writing a post, took a small break, came back, hit reply, and everything reverted to normal.
That being said, despite not liking needlessly complex forum software (believe me, this isn't nearly as bad as this one forum I've been posting at, where it will hijack things like right click and not even allow non-rich text formatting), I think it could work with a slightly better color scheme (I still vastly prefer this one, though)

Re: Major upgrade to phpBB software
Okay, you can change your preferences by going to the User Control Panel, "Board Preferences > Edit Global Settings > My board style". I've enabled the classic theme, the alternate color schemes for the new style are still broken, so I'm working on that.
