Re: Walmart observations

My local store (Duarte, CA) has never been upgraded to supercenter status. I'm not sure if this was a decision by Walmart or because of some restriction from the city, but it's odd. Especially since the manager of my next-closest Walmart (Covina-a supercenter) told me that the Duarte location had on...

Re: Sprouts

I haven't been into my local Sprouts (Monrovia, CA) since the pandemic (because I still don't go into stores), but I always found it to be well-stocked and with friendly employees who were always willing to help you if you needed to locate somethings. And they had great sales on things like produce ...

Re: Walmart+

I read something elsewhere about a customer who had his Walmart+ delivery made by DoorDash. I guess I'm a little confused about how this all works -- are they contracting with local delivery services for this purpose? Walmart+

Walmart+ debuted this week. . There seems to be a lot of confusion out here -- people are comparing it to Amazon Prime, which to me is apples and oranges, as the new free delivery benefit in Walmart+ applies to deliveries from stores, not shipping from walmart.com (which is already free for purchas...

Walmart and Instacart Partner Up

Walmart and Instacart partner for same-day U.S. delivery in fight against Amazon’s Whole Foods I'm not sure how this affects or relates to their planned "Walmart+" service which is supposed to offer free delivery of groceries. It was supposed to roll out in July, then was pushed to August, but I ha...

Re: JC Penney Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection

All of the stores on the list have a "built/occupied" date in the month/2-digit year format. The Kemmerer store is shown as APR-02. Anyone who was unfamiliar with the history of the company would assume it was built in 2002, not 1902.

Re: ALDI to add 70 new stores by next year

Aldi does sell some national brands -- Coke being one of them. They also have Cheerios and some key major brand items in other categories (meat, personal care, cleaning, etc.)
