Re: Macy's Neighborhood Store Watch

Macy's Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights (suburb of Sacramento) has two locations also: a former Weinstock's and a former Liberty House. (The original Macy's in the area was across the street in Birdcage Walk; it's now the location of a Target.) The Eagle Rock Plaza location is in northeast Los Angeles...

I don't know how accurate it is, but their website shows that the Ramona and McKinleyville stores are still open.

Re: Arco- Marathon?

I've avoided ARCO for decades since I only pay with credit cards, so if they're changing their policy, they need to do it chain-wide and advertise it if they want to win back customers like me. Because I'm not going to bother going into an ARCO to check whether or not it accepts credit cards.

Re: Walmart observations

What they lose out in impulse buys they make up for with people like me who end up buying things they don't really need in order to reach the $35 minimum threshold for curbside pickup.

Re: New Amazon Grocery Chain

Now that I'm vaccinated, I decided to make the trip out to North Hollywood to check out the Amazon Fresh (from which I'd previously only done curbside pickup.) I went very early (7:30) on a Saturday morning. There were quite a few shoppers (although it was not crowded), and also at least five or six...

Re: Pavilions?

Albertsons could've re-bannered all of the Pavilions as Vons
The two Pavilions closest to me were both re-bannered as Vons.

To me, what Southern California is really missing is a store like Wegman's or Central Market. That is, a large, upscale market that carries just about everything.

Re: New Amazon Grocery Chain

Perhaps Amazon's move is to plant sites across the country and see what markets where they can go for the kill, or just write off and convert to Whole Foods or 365. They killed the 365 stores a few years back and have converted most of them to regular Whole Foods. But given their smaller size, mayb...

Re: Maverik to enter California

We may not have a major super C-store chain in California, but there's Eddie World in Yermo (outside Barstow).

Re: Amazon Fresh coming to Sacramento (Citrus Heights)

The article at this link, although five months old, has a list of all planned Amazon Fresh stores at that time. It includes a number that have yet to open. And it shows the original tenant in each location. The only one that was a new build is the North Hollywood store I mentioned above.
