Raley's partners with DunhumbyUSA
Dunhumby USA, a partnership of Dunhumby and Kroger, is partnering with Raley's for the launch of the Something Extra loyalty card. I think their are a few FoodsCo and Smith's that compete against Raley's/Bel Air Markets/ The Food Source. http://supermarketnews.com/marketing/raley-s-launches-loyalty-...

Publix already has two stores soon to open in South Carolina in Tega Cay(Ft. Mill) and Indian Land just outside Charlotte. Now the first store in North Carolina has been announced in the Ballantyne neighborhood of Charlotte. Things could get interesting for Harris-Teeter which just completed a store...

Re: WinCo headed for Texas?
DFW has long been a tough market, and entering a distant market has proven the undo for many otherwise storng players. Safeway has managed to stabilize share at Tom Thumb, but Kroger and Wal-Mart have made considerable gains while Albertson's has slimmed down in DFW. If H-E-B were to aggressively en...

Re: Albertsons LLC to Close 13 Florida Stores
ABS LLC continues the remaining 4 stores in Florida. I don't know how its a viable option given advertising costs, and even lost volume from the wholesale side could drive up costs. Re: Supervalu Announces That It Could Be Up For Sale
Besides the initial press release that SVU is exploring the option of putting itself up for sale, nothing has been in the news. This doesn't bode well as it shows the lack of interest from potential investors. Given the the size of SVU, if it were for sale, being broken up piecemeal is the most like...

Re: Walgreens Flagship In Chicago
The store takes a lot of cues for Duane Reade, the New York City drug store chain Walgreen's acquired back in 2010. This is definitely the most upscale Walgreen's I have seen and is move in the direction that Walgreen's has been going since making the move to freestanding stores at busy intersection...
