Re: Bi-Mart's Cascade Farm and Outdoor

TSC appears to have pulled back (?) from Oregon. I thought there was one in Pendleton... although now that I think about it, that is actually D&B (again, similar market, based in Idaho). There is a TSC in Walla Walla and a few through southwest Washington. Locally, definitely more like a competitor...

Re: New self checkouts at Home Depot

It reminds me back a number of years ago all the way back to 2006 checking out at Home Depot. We were buying some things for a remodel and when I scanned a 6 foot piece of baseboard the machine kept saying to "please bag the item". There was no "I don't want to bag this item" option then, so I just...

Re: New self checkouts at Home Depot

Haven't seen the new self checkouts at Home Depot in my area yet. As for Lowe's, they surprisingly had three regular checkstands open when I was there last. For a long time, they didn't even staff the garden center or lumber end with cashiers at various times and self checkout was the only option. I...

Re: J.C. Penney hires former Shopko executive to aid turnaround

I wonder if their lease agreements will allow for this. Typically malls do not sell "used" products. It seems common for malls here to have video game stores that sell used retro game cartridges, and Gamestops sell used games and consoles. So I don't know. Stores in malls do sell refurbished items ...

Bi-Mart's Cascade Farm and Outdoor

It looks like Bi-Mart is trying a new store concept: https://www.cascadefarmandoutdoor.com/ They now have three locations. I have yet to see one of these stores in person, but worth noting are several product categories that seem to overlap, and it does make you wonder if Bi-Mart intends to eventual...

Re: Bi-Mart Changes?

I stopped at the Orchards Bi-Mart today for something, and decided to wander over by the pharmacy area. They have pretty much removed all signs of a pharmacy inside. The whole enclosure and everything is gone and aisles have been rearranged. You can't tell on the inside that the store had a pharmacy...

Re: Bi-Mart Changes?

With Meadowland, that brings the total to 6 closures. This might not sound like a lot but when it's a chain of just over 70 stores, it doesn't exactly bode well for the future of the remaining pharmacies.

Re: Bi-Mart Changes?

Apparently the location in East Wenatchee, WA also lost its pharmacy at the same time as the Vancouver stores:

Re: Sears Fears: The Final Days of Sears & Kmart, 2019

I see that Sears in the ghost mall in Aberdeen, WA keeps holding on... This is a pretty significant round of closures for a chain with less than 400 stores. There have been some other "quiet" closures the past four or five months as well so I wonder what this actually brings store count to. Sears c...

This should probably be combined with an existing Marie Callender's thread:
