Re: NorCal Safeway- Some Bay Area Stores removing self checkout

It looks like save mart/food maxx may also follow suit more because their machines are outdated than anything else.

They need to stop dragging their feet or they risk ending up in chapter 7 liquidation. Making Stein the CEO is going to bite them in the ass. CVS' reputation isn't great and Walgreen's is slipping, the company's failures in bankruptcy is what may give the creditors second thoughts.

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

Rite Aid would be wise to try to dump and pump NorCal and Oregon at this point due to inventory issues. CVS would be their best bet to divest as many as possible and close the overlaps.

Re: Red Lobster Considering Bankruptcy Filing

I don't see Red Lobster surviving too much longer, seafood restaurant chains have just really have been on the decline for good while now. The all you can eat is what did Red Lobster in and the best they can do is try to sell off the real estate.

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

With the low inventory at Rite Aid, customers are now flocking to Target & Walmart to find the stuff they can't get there. CVS & Walgreens don't exactly have good reputations in some these areas where RA has been dropping the ball.

The hour cuts are more to combat homeless people loitering in the dining rooms than anything else. Other fast food places in the area are planning dining hour cuts during this summer.

Jack in the Box in Fresno is reducing dining room hours beginning May 20th. They will be drive-thru only after 9pm.

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: California Impact

The Ralphs banner is going to need a lot of work in those areas especially Bakersfield. If Save Mart was in better shape, they could have been considering expansion to those areas. Stater Bros should consider expanding into the Bakersfield area should the Ralphs banner ends up driving away customers.
