Re: 7-Eleven and Forever 21 Team Up To Make Clothing

The two companies are teaming up to sell 7-Eleven branded clothing with 7-Eleven, Slurpee, and Big Gulp logos. https://corp.7-eleven.com/corp-press-releases/08-13-2020-forever-21-x-7-eleven-this-collab-is-fab https://csnews.com/7-eleven-forever-21-collaborate-clothing-collection If I were wearing a...

Re: SteinMart Files for Bankruptcy.

I tried to shop this store from time to time at several locations in 3 States...........

Not good...........

Men's clothing was a joke as far as selection, sizes and style.

Home decor? I think not regarding style and price.

Customer service was weird.........can't put my finger on it.

Re: Fry’s Electronics on Life Support

I stopped in the Wilsonville, Oregon, Fry's store on Friday. I only had a few minutes, but the main thing that I noticed was that they seemed to be buying a lot of closeout merchandise and trying to sell it at regular price. There was no evidence whatsoever of a sublease program. I noticed that the...

Re: Vons store numbers

Well first off the quality of customer service has really fallen. Many retailers are using covid-19 as the perfect patsy but I do understand the stress of all this on employees. One situation stands out for me where every single produce person knows nothing about the taste or quality of fruits. Give...

Re: Vons store numbers

Hey steps and kikla.........

I have a question about the Pavilions in West Hollywood.

Have you both seen the most recent remodel?

And have you both visited since COVID-19?

I have some observations and wanted to compare to your perspectives.

Re: JC Penney Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection

I don't agree with you on this. Just look to places like Target, Costco, Walmart, these companies all have great talent throughout their organizations. As for other retailers, the issues go much deeper. One of two things is going on. One, these old line retailers often have a culture that discourag...

7-Eleven wins bid to acquire Speedway

Here in SoCal, in the last 1-2 years I've seen 5 new 7-11's open with Sinclair gas stations. Sinclair is a brand I'm not familiar with but the gas is MUCH cheaper than anything near by, sometimes by .40 or more. I've generally noticed the 7-11 here are close by each other (a mile or so apart) but a...

Re: Former Fresh & Easy executive

Could be, but he flourished at Trader Joe's. That's why Tesco recruited him for Fresh & Easy, but they started stopping him from doing his thing because of their hubris. Good people will flourish anywhere. Except when they are set up to fail. As was the case at Fresh & Easy. Though I would argue Tr...

Re: McDonald's Closing 100 Walmart Restaurants

Do McDonald's in Walmart stores improve the store or make it worse? I found that McDonald's was a place where people could go to sit down and take a break from shopping or for people to wait for their family member to finish shopping. I did not like the horrible fast food smells. There was always s...

Re: JC Penney Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection

For the most part, I think there is a void in American retail that COVID has brutally exposed. The sparsity of real talent in top management with their consistently poor decisions. Consolidation has only worsened the situation along with a whole bunch of systemic issues that have a long history of ...
