Re: Official: Red Lobster files Chapter 11

Great "Last Week Tonight" segment coming soon to YouTube about this whole situation. Also, they bought the inventory of one of the liquidated locations and turned it into part of their set for the show-closing bit. Very well done. Also, the "Red Lobster featuring Last Week Tonight wit...

Re: Daiso to open in Vancouver, WA

This store is a former Tuesday Morning but it is clearly from when they were relocating into larger spaces. It was roomy but I think had DAISO shelving. It took about 45 minutes to go through the line, which was much faster than Saturday according to the employee monitoring door counts. I felt the s...

"Physical retail / malls are dead"

Maybe people just want a surprise.
Luckily their next door neighbor is a Sola Salon franchise so the breezeway could be blocked.
About 1/3 of the nearby plates are from Oregon.

Re: Dillards vs. Kohls

The only Dillard's I've visited in the last few years is Fashion Show in Las Vegas and it is consistently busy. The difference is I see people buying there, while I see people browsing at Macy's. I did not get into the main Dillards store at FSLV this trip, however we did go to the clearance center...

Re: Extra Mile Remodeling

Ours are receiving the new exterior sign. Most are too small to have this pictured interior.
((shrug)) I don't get it, personally.

Re: Albertsons & Smith's Las Vegas Observations

Resurrection again. . . LOL So in this past holiday weekend visit, we dined on Friday at a restaurant near the VONS/Safeway duo I mentioned up top. The VONS are now closing at 10 pm so we just missed their hours (pity, I was curious about what might have changed, if anything). The fuel center/mini m...

Re: Official: Red Lobster files Chapter 11

I felt it was worth adding the business column piece from the Los Angeles Times that is well researched and explains how this happened alongside some of the negative of P.E. ownership - they truly do try to counter-act the "it was the $20 shrimp" argument. https://www.latimes.com/business/...

Re: Pocatello, Ida. Pine Ridge "Mall" bought by Simon

I was thinking there is no way the large Simon Mall group would possibly touch that mall... that mall was nice when the anchors were filled but the reality is its size - it was just flat out overbuilt for the area. ((shrug)) It killed off two smaller malls in the city (Pocatello Mall, today where F...

Pocatello, Ida. Pine Ridge "Mall" bought by Simon

After being part of John Price to their sale to GGP to GGP offloading this to a family ownership, who actually stewarded the property to the best of their control, the center has been sold to what I assume is Simon Malls as SimonCRE. New owners of Pine Ridge Mall confirm Kohl's is on the way Like ma...
