Re: Fry's Signature concept in existing store
I really miss that decor package. The 'Stadium' Fred Meyer has never felt the same after the expansion and change to the modern Kroger "marketplace" decor. To me, I think it feels more sterile, although the wine and beer bar has proved to be so popular they are expanding the seating area ...

Re: Haggen to close, liquidate 100 more stores
Store re-opening plans are starting to bubble out. The Gig Harbor Safeway is expecting a February opening - Port Orchard looks to be a little later. I noticed that entrances and front windows have been boarded up at Silverdale and East Bremerton. I've lost the union discussion, maybe it was in the ...

Re: Albertsons shutting second Safeway bakery, this time in Washington
The Safeway Clackamas plant supplies all of the private label bread to WinCo. . . The breads are not under Safeway brands but customers are not so stupid and know they are Safeway items; plus the breads sit in the WinCo Store on crates that say Glencourt, Vons, or Lucerne Foods. My family has been ...

Re: Haggen closing Bellevue and Shoreline Stores
I guess Haggen / Comvest didn't own that valuable Bellevue real estate.

Re: Integration of Albertsons and Safeway
In markets where Safeway offers it, Albertsons is now "partnering" for grocery delivery.

Re: Gelsons opening first of former Haggen locations January 14
More video inside the new Gelson's (wow, do many California female news anchors look like that lady?) After about :50 in, you'll see some more panoramas of the store. Looks like they used the wood bookcase look for endcaps. I still miss that from 'fresh fare' Stadium Fred Meyer days. Gelson’s Opens...

Re: Pocatello, Idaho, Kmart closing
Ha ha, I came in to chime in with my 2c but y'all already covered it all for me. Apparently exiting the mall lease and sticking with the one store still wasn't enough for Pocatello. Idaho Falls has both a K-Mart and full-line Sears store.
