Re: Haggen to close, liquidate 100 more stores
Tustin Safe LLC (I have no idea who this is) is bidding for the store on 17th street in Tustin, Doing a little internet digging, since 2012 Tustin Safe LLC is a Delaware LLC (big surprise  ) and then a court document related to Haggen said that all correspondence for them should go to their c...

Bella's Market being sold to Ridley's, entering CO
Bellas Market, Wellington sold
Ridleys is moving into Colorado with the purchase of a market supplied by Associated to a community a bit over 7,000 residents. The current owner has encountered financial difficulty, leading to empty shelves and troubles with merchandise, apparently.

Re: Baker City, Oregon Haggen
I happened to need to travel through Baker City, Oregon so I snapped some photos of the Haggen there. As I pointed out in a previous post, this store is newer and larger than the Safeway across the street. It will be interesting to see if Baker County can find another grocery tenant besides someone...

Re: Haggen to close, liquidate 100 more stores
What a contrast these images present! I was in the "going concern" former Albertson's at the corner of Walnut and Barrows Rd. in Beaverton. The store was clean, well stocked and looked like business as usual. There were even a decent amount of customers. Upon leaving the area, I took Murra...

Smith's Marketplace expanding
According to this article, locations will continue to increase through 2017. One thing of note, this location has many of the new Kroger touches but no beer/wine bar, probably due to the difficulties with alcohol service in Utah. Smith's Opens New Smith's Marketplace in Kaysville Kaysville is in Dav...

Re: Haggen to close, liquidate 100 more stores
It looks like officials in Baker City, Oregon are courting Winco foods to take over the soon to close Haggen location there: http://www.bakercityherald.com/Local-News/Replace-Haggen I wish them the best of luck. Baker County has been flat in population for decades at just under 10,000 and I don't k...

Re: Carquest name disappearing?
The CarQuest on Powell Blvd. is now Advance and my radio station continues to run advertisements about "grand openings" of Advance stores so I think all the Portland, Ore. area stores are converting over to the corporate banner. Since they place a lot of radio advertising nationally, like ...

Re: Tractor Supply in the 'burbs
In Idaho, they now have a location in Meridian (basically suburban Boise), took over part of the decaying West Park Plaza in Ontario, Ore. (right ont he Idaho border) and are opening in Pocatello in the former Cal Ranch space at Westwood Mall. Cal moved to the Pine Ridge Mall. Tractor Supply Company...

Re: New Urban Grocer to Open in Bellevue Square
So Whole Foods is the tenant in this case, but it's for their new "365" concept. I was thinking this was pretty close to the Bellevue Whole Foods so this is an interesting idea. There isn't another grocer nearby except for the pleasant and large newer "lifestyle" Safeway that rep...
