Re: Albertsons announces strategic review of company

Over the years a lot of negative points came up about having the headquarters in Boise. There isn't much of a vendor presence there, to get vendors there who have to fly on the airlines almost always meant a connecting flight (not a non-stop), and historically the market didn't have much grocery co...

Re: Save Mart in Reno

These two Keystone Stores are two of the worst stores in the area. Another awful store is the Sak N Save on Silverada (now owned by Raleys). Slot machines in the stores have kept many stores open in Reno that would otherwise not be viable as stores (many Longs Stores were also like this). Slowly th...

Re: Halloween Stores

It appears some communities are still hurting for available retail space. Eastern Idaho's largest economic engine is Idaho Falls. It would seem like they could have taken over the former Petco near Grand Teton Mall, though. https://www.eastidahonews.com/2022/08/spirit-halloween-will-not-be-coming-to...

Re: Liquor Service and Table Service

I noticed that their website says it is hiring 17 and older. The company really must be desperate. Can 17 year olds serve liquor? These policies are set at the state level. Idaho raised the drinking age to 21 to keep federal highway dollars but never changed the age of sale/service. So a 19-21 year...

Re: Albertsons announces strategic review of company

My Aunt worked in the accounting department and her department moved to an office in San Leandro in the early 90s. Then a few years later her department moved to a Safeway office in Walnut Creek, California. She retired and I am not sure when the department later moved to Pleasanton. The company I ...

Re: WinCo marketing in eastern Idaho

Interesting that they aren't showing copies of the actual receipts as they did in the past. They were at the bottom of the ad. I just clipped this portion for readability / board posting. I'm also trying to work on some comparison data, but have been fortunate enough to have family in town and post...

Re: Save Mart in Reno

Keeping that Keystone Store open has done Save Mart no favors for its reputation in the Reno market. However that store serves quite a few people with no vehicle and closing it would certainly create a "food desert." Physically it is in terrible shape, it is a lousy neighborhood, and it i...

You do have that statewide minimum wage indexed to inflation, no "tipping credit" . . . but so does the Portland area.

There are armed guards posted at Duluth Trading Co now?!? Things have really changed at 'the beach.'

Re: Terrible Experience With Vons

I am curious- on the website, do they have a way to dispute any parts of your order/initiate a return/report a quality issue and get a refund automatically (like almost every other major national store chain- including Kroger- has)? Yes. I had ordered some flowers for my parent in a 'Drive up and g...

WinCo marketing in eastern Idaho

From a full-page newspaper ad in the two larger cities in eastern Idaho (also where WinCo is located): https://s3-media0.fl.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/Voucf3sFrzMo5SATK7YF9w/o.jpg New competition in Idaho Falls - Ammon with Grocery Outlet, Pocatello is a bit tighter with only one Albertsons left and it is n...
