Re: Review: King Soopers

They must've changed the entrance/exit setup since I was there. When I was there, you could enter from Chestnut Place directly into the deli/prepared foods area near produce. It felt normal enough. Did you go to any Safeways? What's your opinion? I didn't have a car so no Safeway for me. It's kind ...

Review: King Soopers

Well, I went into the KS near Union Station. I think I'd seen photos online from when it opened, which certainly makes sense for all the tall apartment and condominium buildings nearby. It's about 3 blocks from a Whole Foods that has the same hours, except KS closing one hour later at 10. Overall, i...

Re: Target Circle

I recently skipped a food item purchase as it was already somewhat high priced and I would have been forced to enroll in Circle to get the $1 savings on it. ... though I hate to say it, the Target on the 16th Street Mall (Denver, CO) has been useful. The first trip the food floor was pretty well sto...

Re: Downtown Denver (Central Business District) Retail

Found the traditional "mall" on the 16th St. Mall, it's named Denver Pavilions. It is struggling with a lot of the 'youth focused' tenants gone. Uniqlo was here but left, Forever 21 was here, now the only hang-on appears to be H&M. I guess H&M must get pretty good rent deals, they ...

Downtown Denver (Central Business District) Retail

This is only day 1 of me being here so I don't know for sure yet, but so far this is the worst urban center I've been in for shopping in some time. Target actually has a good "city" store here, built like most of them were, on 2nd & 3rd floor of a building. It was comparable to the Por...

Haggen brand refresh - "Quality"

Haggen appears to be undergoing an ever so slight rebrand by using their same H with a circle default logo for square needs, but have replaced the "since 1933" in the logo with the word 'Quality.' This has also appeared on paper bags. The horizontal Haggen Northwest Fresh logo also still s...

Re: New logo, new tag: Market of Choice

It's not as clear from the desktop website, but MoC has updated their logo and font families to reflect some of their new movements in "local" food and branding. They definitely are branding the "Oregon-ness" so clearly not moving into SW Washington state (or elsewhere) soon. Fr...

Re: Arby's Free Sandwich Each Week In April

What is the "Gyro Meat?" Arby's is surprisingly open about their ingredients (many chains seem to have pulled back from this): Gyro Meat: Beef, Water, Bread Crumbs (bleached wheat flour, dextrose, salt, yeast), Lamb, Soy Protein Concentrate, Cereal Binder (corn, wheat, rye, oat and rice f...

1st Superior Grocers open in Las Vegas valley

With ALDI on the way, here's another new competitor as "southern Nevada" increasingly becomes So-Cal lite. ;-) California grocery chain opens 1st Vegas store 21955 N Nellis Blvd., 89115 There was a pretty cool Instagram video showing off the tamale bar, the agua frescas, the boba tea bar, ...
