Re: Regal Cinemas parent Cineworld to file for bankruptcy
Regal is keeping the downtown Seattle theater open, despite earlier reports, and closing another theater in a former "Act II" market, Tigard, Ore. Interestingly enough, this is where customers of the closed Sherwood, Ore. location were directed to visit. Bridgeport Village, a large, curren...

Re: Kroger to merge with Albertsons?
I concur with Clown! If any of this goes through (I hope it does not because historically, all promises are lies), I believe the Lucky name is the best bet. These purported "geniuses" at Save Mart should ditch that awful name and fly with Lucky. If these chiefs are so good they can serous...

Re: Amazon Halts All New Amazon Fresh Just Walk Out Stores
It was reported locally on TV that more "Amazon" layoffs are coming; it really feels a little bit like what ClownLoach laid out earlier may be starting to happen: https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/company-news/update-from-ceo-andy-jassy-on-amazons-operating-plan-and-additional-role-eliminat...

Counter offer - try these Oregon "country style" restaurants
OregonLive.com decided to post a small list of other gift shop and country-style diner restaurants in the state. Some might even be far better than Cracker Barrel. https://www.oregonlive.com/trending/2023/03/sad-about-cracker-barrel-closing-dont-be-these-local-country-style-restaurants-are-even-bett...

Re: Cracker Barrel closes Portland Jantzen Beach location
I don't think Medford or Sacramento will be around much longer either. Both locations close at 6 PM or 7 PM. What is the point- may as well close at 2 PM if you can't be open during dinner. This was part of the problem for us. Irregular hours / hour cutbacks that made it more challenging to visit a...

Re: Target closing 2 Washington DC Area Stores
They're also closing Center City Philadelphia. There are four stores within the boundaries of that neighborhood, which small-format was it? Hopefully not the one on Chestnut St, that one is large enough to be useful. The one at Broad St and Washington Ave would seem most likely; photos of the site ...

March 2023 price checks
I had a lot of time on my hands today on the ol' job so I went ahead and plugged in 2 recent shopping trips plus online data from other retailers. Fred Meyer and QFC prices should align with in-store (as advertised). Target and Walmart sometimes charge different shelf and online prices now. Two NW S...

Re: SpartanNash consolidating banners
2005 isn't even that long ago. I do wonder if Loblaw's may give this another try at some point to bring this product line down into the US again. I just wonder who would pick it up. At this point most everyone is either a big chain or tied into TopCo. I don't think TopCo's "secondary" bra...

Re: Sprouts Closing 11 Stores, to focus on "smaller concept."
I saw online that Lynnwood, WA is closing and it is a 2019 opening. I guess this means we're never going to see them in the PNW after all. They supposedly were going to occupy portions of some former closed Albertsons locations but that never happened in Portland, Ore. area. I believe this Lynnwood...
