Re: Dutch Bros. To Offer Mobile Ordering For The First Time Amid Profits

I can believe Dutch Bros is hurting Starbucks in Texas as their expansion has been breathtakingly fast (about 200 stores since 2021 compared to Starbucks' 1250 since 1994) but there's no way that's putting a noticeable dent on their performance in the bigger picture.

Re: WinCo Expands to Renton

WinCo Foods has acquired the old Fry's Electronics building across from the Target at Renton Landing. Originally it was going to be redeveloped into a multi family housing site. Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact

At some point someone blinks. I don't think they have until November. They need to move on. This can't stay tied up forever. The two companies can't stay in limbo forever. Let's see how earnings/profits with both companies are in the coming 3 months. I think the opportunity for someone to "bli...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact

Apparently the plan has been tweaked to add another Texas and Louisiana store to the list (doesn't say which one from what) as well as "increased distribution capacity, provisions for expanded transition services and an additional dairy facility." https://973thedawg.com/ixp/36/p/kroger-alb...

Re: Subway Sale to Roark

Some Roark owned concepts that might fit (I didn't realize how many of these they owned); Auntie Anne's, Carvel, Cinnabon, Jamba, McAlister’s, Schlotzsky's, Seattle's Best Coffee (when did SBUX give that up?), Baskin Robbins, Dunkin Donuts, Jimmy John's. I think any of these would be an upgrade fro...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact

The trial with the Washington AG has been OK'd by the courts and is now set by September. If Kroger was hoping to get this wrapped up by election day that's looking less and less likely. https://www.kulr8.com/news/court-rules-antitrust-lawsuit-against-kroger-albertsons-merger-can-proceed/article_5cc...

Re: Kroger surpasses H-E-B and Walmart for #1 market share in Houston

This is not unlike how Wegmans does things where they heavily push private label, typically at strong prices, and have few national brand options. The nice things I have heard about Wegmans revolves around their perishables, not the center store. H-E-B's perishables are better than Kroger's I think...

Re: Kroger surpasses H-E-B and Walmart for #1 market share in Houston

I have to back pesudo3d up on this. The local rags have already paraded around this data and will likely have some trickle-down influence. Target has also built some large stores like Katy and New Caney, which have been lauded as being "huge" when, in reality, they're smaller than our exi...
