Re: Albertsons announces strategic review of company

Maybe it's just me,but the ACI Atlantic seaboard operations may be lagging compared to those of ahold Delhaize, which could factor in antitrust reviews should they do merge. If they do merge, hopefully the post-merger ahold Delhaize USA headquarters would either be in Pleasanton or New England rathe...

Re: Albertsons announces strategic review of company

Even if it wasn't a total merger, what do the two companies have to offer? Albertsons has several good divisions and some less-good divisions. The Mid-Atlantic Division would be the one most affected by an Ahold Delhaize merger, but there have been a lot of resources poured into it, and it would loo...

Re: Church's Texas Chicken

Church's has been announcing what sound like major expansions over the years but it never seems to pan out. I rarely see a Church's in my travels, save for a few I know of in tough neighborhoods in NorCal that have been around for many decades. Even small expansions don't seem to pan out. I can't f...

Church's Texas Chicken

So apparently Church's Chicken is changing its name to Church's Texas Chicken with a new logo (the international outlets are still called Texas Chicken). I'm not sure I like the idea. The logo is extremely bland, and Church's doesn't have much of a "Texas" heritage like places like Whatabu...

Re: Albertsons announces strategic review of company

The thing with an Ahold Delhaize/Albertsons merger is that there's very little benefit to either company. Royal Ahold and Delhaize weren't merged in the U.S. for their benefits, it was all the overseas portions where it counted. When the Safeway/Albertsons merger happened, Albertsons got an infrastr...

Re: Albertsons announces strategic review of company

Now there's speculation that they want some sort of Ahold Delhaize merger. Ahold Delhaize runs the stronger operation in the Northeast but it would mean more divestments centered around the Northeast.

Re: McDonald's Brings Back Bagel Sandwiches

Before COVID, there were a few franchises that still had the bagel sandwiches, complete with the “breakfast sauce”.

Re: Revlon Files For Bankruptcy

I wonder if there are still some hidden "assets" (which attracted Ron Perelman) from the former Food Fair/Pantry Pride that will see the light of day as the bankruptcy unfolds. :?: :?: I think the original plan of Pantry Pride was so he could write off a loss while making an overall profi...

Re: Revlon Files For Bankruptcy

They filed for Chapter 11 citing "legacy debt" challenges and supply chain disruptions. Elizabeth Arden bought Revlon in 2016 and the company changed names to Revlon. Rival Coty seems to be doing better as they have deals to make beauty products using brands such as Gucci, Adidas, Calvin ...

Albertsons' new store in Meridian

The new store at Amity Road and Eagle Road is set to open tomorrow (July 23). It looks a lot like the Albertsons Market Street exterior, but obviously is smaller (half the size) and doesn't have the extra amenities, though will include a fresh popcorn counter. https://boisedev.com/news/2022/07/21/al...
