Re: Albertsons scales back Plated Meal Kits

https://www.grocerydive.com/news/albertsons-scales-back-plated-meal-kits/551607/ This isn't too surprising. They have few to no of these at all in my area (remote NorCal division Stores). These are simply a very slow seller in most stores. Kroger continues to "push it" up here at Smiths with whatev...

Re: LifeWay Christian Resources To Close

You can buy this type of merchandise online at cheaper prices. These stores always seemed to high priced. Most of the customers who still used the stores were mostly senior citizens who did not use the internet for purchases. Their customer base is dying out. Actually, a big part of Lifeway's downf...

Re: Washington Senate passes Plastic Bag Ban

Well, it isn't really a plastic bag ban. It is just a pay for your bag and get a much thicker plastic bag bill. I don't think I've ever seen an 8 cent bag fee before (I wonder if the stores will even bother with the 8 cents or just charge the 10 cents). Still this is an increase from the 5 cent fee...

Re: Albertsons/Safeway 2018 & 2019: Openings and Closings

Not official yet, but the Randalls at Exposition Blvd and Lake Austin Blvd in Austin will likely be closing over the coming months as the property's lease comes up for renewal. UT Austin owns the property, and as of now, intends to lease it to HEB. This property is a tight squeeze, but would likely...

Re: Albertsons North Texas closing 4 stores

Randalls is dead man walking. Tom Thumb in DFW soon to follow. Pretty sad when a company, Randalls, has to close it warehouse Pretty sad in DFW when the local headquarters located on the second floor of a store has to close. Here you had management preaching how to run stores yet the store right be...

Re: Fred Meyer Remodels Continue

Longview update: Most of the store is done, with some work still going on in produce. For the most part things are typical for Fred Meyer, and they have added Scan Bag Go. But one thing is baffling me: the lighting. The store has rows of 8 foot T8 fluorescent fixtures that were installed in the las...

Re: Whole Foods Expansion

Amazon probably realized that they could make more money on the full priced Whole Foods stores. Eventually the 365 name will be dropped and all prices will be raised to absurd levels. The 365 store under construction will probably open as a full priced Whole Foods store. There is no shortage of peo...
