Re: Walgreens plans to close 200 stores

Has anyone heard Walgreen's replacing stores with pharmacy only locations? I can think of two in Greenville, South Carolina, and Black Mountain, North Carolina.

Re: Fred's to Liquidate

I expected Fred's end for several years. Fred's could not compete as a dollar store with Dollar General and as a drugstore with CVS and Walgreen's.

Re: Sears Fears: The Final Days of Sears & Kmart, 2019

There are not many Kmart stores left in some states. Georgia has no stores, North Carolina has four stores, and South Carolina has three stores.

Re: Walgreens plans to close 200 stores

I have noticed stores that were open 24 hours have limited their hours to 0600 to midnight. Could stores with reduction in hours be the first to close?

I wonder if cellular phone service providers have opened too many retail locations that operate on skeleton crews.

Re: Walgreen's closing Rite Aid distribution center in Spartanburg County, South Carolina

Walgreen's "blank spaces" could be filled from other merchandise rather than display posters.

Re: Southeastern Grocers: 2019

I never liked the way the doors were set up on the 80s Winn Dixies, where you entered facing a row of checkouts and had to walk past all those to get to the first department. WInn-Dixie's stores opened from the late 1980's through the 1990's had the oddest entry/exit configuration. First, the entry...

This has always been WD's M.O.: make a few stores real showplaces, and ignore the rest of the fleet until business drops, then half-heartedly remodel and clean those stores enough to raise business. Nothing new here.
I have noticed this with some BI-LO store locations.

Walgreen's closing Rite Aid distribution center in Spartanburg County, South Carolina

Walgreen's is closing Rite Aid's distribution center in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Operations will transfer to Walgreen's distribution center in Anderson County, South Carolina. The distribution center was among three and 1,932 stores Walgreen's acquired from Walgreen's in 2017. It opened i...
