Re: Trader Joe's opening in northern Idaho
...As Trader Joe's has grown, I feel that some of the core items I used to buy have suffered. They stopped carrying akmak entirely... not sure if it was the bakery couldn't supply the quantity they wanted, or if they were insisting on private label rights. ... Regarding ak-mak, I think it is the ba...

Unfortunately the links are broken. Yeah sorry about that, I posted that from my phone and now I can't seem to fix it so here you go. Picture Store Tour Hi Market Report Blog, as you seem to be on the other side of the country, here is a link to a LARGE Kroger-owned store built from the ground up w...

Re: Macys Closing Stores by 2026
If I didn't prefer the Biltmore Macy's to the Fashion Square Macy's, I would disagree with you arizonaguy and suggest Biltmore become the Bloomingdale's. Given the presence of Sak's, Bloomingdale's would do well. However, you are right: the Fashion Square Macy's is pretty dismal and Bloomie's fits b...

Re: 30+ new Whole Foods leased, more on the way
I was (pleasantly) surprised to see several local brands return to Whole Foods in Phoenix. Just a couple of years ago they eliminated almost all local product. Someone figured out that people who shop at Whole Foods want to buy local.

Re: Nordstrom going to Private Equity?
...When they went this way they also reduced the sizes kept in store substantially, forcing many customers to order online where it is easy to find the same product from a competitor for less. Prior to the fulfillment warehouses, they always kept every size in stock even if they didn't have room on...

Re: Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions Cutting Store Hours
Looks like effective last Monday, most Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions will be open 6AM - 10PM. Previously, these stores were open until 11PM and some opened at 5AM. Prior to the pandemic, many were open until 12AM-2AM. It’s only been recently that some locations near Los Angeles saw their hours expanded...

Re: Walgreens names new CEO
Yes it is the only one. Maybe Walgreens intends to open more of them. "Be Well" was Walgreens slogan for a number of years as I recall pre-Boots. Or possibly right after Boots. That's true. However, the "Be Well" that is renting space from Walgreens is part of Be Well Family Car...

Re: Walgreens names new CEO
Walgreens has been closing down the Village Medical sites in several markets-mainly in Florida. These are the clinics that were built on existing Walgreens sites-cutting the size of the Walgreens store in half. With Village Medical gone, what do they do with the now empty space? Here in Phoenix, th...

Re: ALDI to acquire Winn-Dixie
That is my impression. The first time I went into one of these decades ago I was blown away by how cheap everything was. Compared to other stores it almost felt like free food. And the quality was above average for generics. The store was orderly and spartan. NOW- the price gap between them and oth...
