Two of the Phoenix stores that are being kept have been recently remodeled.
I was perusing their website yesterday and came across this gem when looking at immersion blenders:
Just for laughs, I checked it out. Here's the description:

Re: Kroger to merge with Albertsons?
Yep, you are both spot on about Publix. Their ideology and hubris will never allow them to get involved in a Union environment or be bought out. The DNA of this company is JENKINS (related or not) and it will remain so. They are not innovators, plus it is the Publix way or get lost. IMO, their cult...

Re: Kroger to merge with Albertsons?
... What I find more interesting about Publix is their organic expansion outside Florida. In the modern times the only other chain that has had such a successful long running organic expansion program covering so many states/territories in the grocery business is Wal Mart. Wherever Publix expands, ...

Re: Kroger to merge with Albertsons?
...it's going to look like the banking, airline and telecom industries for the next decade as everyone rushes to combine into a handful of national chains. Do I think that this is a good thing? No, not really. But we usually see a mad rush to combine companies after a mega-merger goes through.... A...

Re: Sprouts Closing 11 Stores, to focus on "smaller concept."
The only Sunflower I shopped was the one at Lomas and San Mateo in Albuquerque. It was OK, but you are right - it seemed amateurish. Not sure whether that was intentional, though. The friend who lived in ABQ said she liked shopping there but preferred Henery's. She also noted it declined after being...

Re: Sprouts Closing 11 Stores, to focus on "smaller concept."
A few months ago, Jack Sinclair stated the smaller legacy Sprouts in San Diego do higher volumes and are more successful than their larger, newer counterparts. That is true. However, those stores did not start as Sprouts, they were Henry's stores Sprouts acquired. Before Henry's they were Boney's, o...

Re: Sprouts implementing .10 Bag Fee April 3
I use reusable bags, but think this charge is a very stupid move. The occasional customer (you know, the ones they want to convert to regular customers) will be surprised by the fee and leave the store feeling disgruntled. The regular customer will know about the change, but invariably forget their ...

Re: Tuesday Morning Files for Bankruptcy
Back in the 1990's Tuesday Morning was great. They had very few stores and, as the commercial upthread pointed out, they were hard to find. Typically, tucked away in a third-tier strip mall located next to a freeway exit ramp. They had actual "finds." I bought Ralph Lauren sheets for $20 a...
