Re: Ross Store closure-Susanville, CA

Clean, well-stocked stores, racks that are not crammed with disheveled merchandise, lines that are not interminable, and a security guard at the front door who is reasonably friendly. Let's face it: you don't shop at Ross for the ambience. You shop there for the prices. Do they redecorate or anythi...

Re: Whole Foods Now Accepting Amazon Returns

This will negatively affect Kohl's. When I returned at Kohl's, they gave me a coupon for a discount off a purchase. It really makes you want to buy something. There was quite a line for Amazon returns. Now their sales will go down. I'm curious how many people actually buy anything at Kohl's when ma...

Re: Ross Store closure-Susanville, CA

Ross has upgraded its stores in Phoenix and the one in Flagstaff is great. Sorry to hear that did not extend to the entire chain. I never shopped there in San Diego because their stores were so depressing. What does the upgrade involve? ... Clean, well-stocked stores, racks that are not crammed wit...

Looks great. Another place to visit on my next visit home.

Fun fact: A National occupied this site before being replaced by a Village Thrift store.
Whoops! Was looking at the map incorrectly.

Re: Sprouts Adding Self Checkouts

They have had self-checkouts in a couple of their Phoenix stores since early this year (possibly longer - I rarely shop there). They work OK, but as @storewanderer mentioned entering a PLU code is a hassle. I wonder whether (and if so how many) we will see in their new smaller-footprint stores. Thes...

Re: Amazon- Amazon Delivery Van

Less than five minutes ago, UPS delivered an Amazon order that was fulfilled in North Las Vegas, NV. Saturday I received another Amazon package that was delivered by UPS. Didn't notice the fulfillment site before putting it in the recycle bin.

Re: Walmart observations

The company-paid personal/company-use cell phone is actually a very good idea. As timekeeping and scheduling apps become more prevalent the employees will need smartphones to use them. One of the arguments in favor a higher wages is smartphones have become a necessity, not a luxury. This addresses t...

Re: Bed Bath & Beyond: Dying?

...Not everyone needs a $250 sheet... And if you want a $250 sheet set you don't buy it at Bed, Bath, and Beyond because the quality is not the same as the $250 sets you can buy at Macy's, Dillards, or Bloomingdale's. It is Target quality (which is perfectly fine) at more than double the price (whi...

Re: Is 2021 finally the end for Sears/Kmart?

...I think Kmart has about 6 pharmacies still open across the chain of 21 stores total. Hard to understand how that makes any sense given they are in multiple states and have to go into networks/insurance plans in all those different states. But in the case of this Grass Valley store the pharmacy i...
