Re: In-N-Out opening in Washington
A former Rite Aid in Vancouver, WA may soon become an In-N-Out: https://www.kptv.com/2024/04/24/in-n-out-seeks-out-second-spot-sw-washington/ It will be interesting to see how much further north they expand. Seems like they would do well with areas such as Woodland, Kelso, and Chehalis where there ...

Re: Aldi lists job openings at multiple warehouses and nearly 30 stores in Northern California
Too bad I do not see all that in my shopping radius and of course I and many others are not going to take a chance and travel to find out if it is true (for food purposes). I would agree with that statement in that their newer stores are still in suburban areas. The more urban areas are older store...

Re: Kroger will also sell Haggen banner to C&S
If C&S is actually serious about owning and operating their own supermarkets, as I think I saw on a different thread, maybe they should bring Bob Mariano? He would know how to operate a Haggen. Plus he could improve QFC. While Carrs is basically a Safeway, his expertise wouldn't hurt! Also nobo...

Re: Nordstrom going to Private Equity?
Many of their closures have been small markets in the Pacific NW that probably date back to when they bought Best. I'd imagine these either had cheap long-term leases or were owned by them but never generated much volume. The Best stores were only in Seattle with one store in Portland. They may hav...

I have to back pesudo3d up on this. The local rags have already paraded around this data and will likely have some trickle-down influence. Target has also built some large stores like Katy and New Caney, which have been lauded as being "huge" when, in reality, they're smaller than our exi...

Re: Nordstrom going to Private Equity?
The NYC store is a very odd location, but it would be difficult for them to locate where their customers are. The high end retail has migrated to a stretch of Madison Avenue that is perfect for boutiques and full line men's or women's retailers but not for even a modestly large store. The high end ...

To be fair most Asian grocers are a messy hodgepodge of whatever they think people may buy too... it is usually difficult to find items and this includes the chains especially 99 Ranch, SF Supermarket, and some H Marts everything is just thrown around. There are obviously no planograms. Seafood Cit...

Re: Advance Auto already closing CA stores?
Their website seems to think that store is open? https://stores.advanceautoparts.com/ca/temecula/40605-winchester-rd But when I go try to do a store pick up order there, pretty much everything I tried to order is out of stock... I did eventually find an item that was in stock. They are ready to col...

How many restaurants did Chevy's / El Torito have at their peak? Hard to believe Chevy's is down to 16. I think Mexican is a challenge because there's so many local dive restaurants that are cheap. I love a fajita from El Torito, but at over $40 (including service charge, tax and tip), I'll go to s...
