Re: Macy's Closing 10 Stores in January 2022
Macy's is shrewd. If they give advanced warning, some of these malls may offer a discount on rent to make Macy's stay. Some of those malls will be doomed if they lose a major anchor such as Macy's. Many malls are barely hanging on. Once Macy's leaves the malls will get little traffic. West Valley M...

Re: Is 2021 finally the end for Sears/Kmart?
Nothing was blocked off, the layout was odd for a KMart, but it's Manhattan. They had a fair amount of clothing and a decent frozen food section, as well as what looked like seasonal summer merchandise when you walk from the Astor/Lafayette corner. It was two floors, the bottom had what looked like...

Re: Is 2021 finally the end for Sears/Kmart?
Astor Place in NYC (former Wanamaker's, across from Cooper Union) closed today. Employees did not know until they came to work today. Apparently they're being evicted for not paying their bills. I was there two weeks ago, it was devoid of customers and looked sad but was stocked. Lampert can go to ...

They were never going to actually rebrand everything as Lucky. Pride wouldn't let them, just like pride convinced Albertsons to eliminate the Lucky name in the first place, which nearly destroyed their company and caused it split in half, with the "lesser" company actually being the better...

Re: Target Closing 2 Small Stores in the San Francisco Bay Area
One San Francisco store and one Cupertino store will close. These are tiny 35 employee stores. The Cupertino store is in an affluent area in the same city as Apple's Headquarters. The San Francisco store is also within walking distance of the Stonestown store which is currently being expanded into ...

The Food Club brand seems to have a very nice selection of products. It would be a vast improvement over Sunny Select. https://foodclubbrand.com/ Food Club is quite good. Much improved package designs from when Scolaris carried it in NV in the early 00's, though even then I recall a pretty large mi...

Some divisions like Ralphs and QFC have almost no fuel centers while divisions like Fred Meyer or Smiths have one at almost every store. Ralphs has gas stations at its stores in Murrieta, Palm Desert, Eastvale, Rancho Cucamonga, and Fullerton. There are a few Ralphs gas stations that aren't in the ...

Re: JC Penney Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection
They didn't spend anything to get in. They were paid to go in by a surplus the city had from development fees to keep the mall from going down when Gottschalks went out of business. They had a ten year agreement and that's up this year. So you can see where this is going. I thought Macys redid some...
