Re: Walmart Restrooms Closed, Porta Potties Brought In
The Walmart in Pleasanton is not a Supercenter and the manager of the store was fired a short time ago. The store has been suffering from a lack of sales. It is a ghost town with very few customers and tons of out of stock items. The manager could not handle his store and they got rid of him. The s...

Re: Nordstrom--where's the store?
They were supposed to build a full-line Nordstrom in Palm Desert years ago but it never happened.

Walgreens pushing credit cards
I had to make a quick run to a local Walgreens (Las Vegas - Bonanza/Lamb) last weekend and they have started having their cashiers push Walgreens Mastercards. As a former longtime Macy's employee, I hated doing that because the customers hated it, and would sometimes get downright hostile just becau...

Vons in Fresno
I've noticed that when you zoom in on a Vons location in Google maps an icon of the Vons logo appears. But for the Fresno stores, despite being labeled as Vons on Google maps, the little icon shows a Safeway logo instead of a Vons logo. As Fresno has been moved to the NorCal division, are there plan...

Re: Save Mart bought by private equity firm
Save Mart's strategy to try to force itself upon multiple central valley towns as the only option was nothing but a failure. Even back when Save Mart was run pretty well (before 2008) and the stores were friendly, fairly priced, and had decent quality products, the customers did not seem to like ho...

Re: Save Mart bought by private equity firm
For decades Tracy has been attached at the hip to the Bay Area, and for years was the only town in the valley that really was. At the time that Lucky opened (replacing an older store at Tracy Blvd and 205 that originally opened as a Lucky Discount Center) Safeway had not made its comeback in the val...

Re: Save Mart bought by private equity firm
Save Mart should emphasize the Lucky brand. If necessary, rebrand some former Lucky stores to Lucky and bring back the old logo. You never know. A name change can do wonders to attract customers. I agree with this but considering they did quietly rebrand Santa Cruz, Monterey, etc. area from Save Ma...

Re: Southern California UFCW Contract Expiring 3/6/22
Ralphs as a chain or brand will not cease to exist, it just might not be part of Kroger. Save Mart was just purchased by a private equity group based in LA; if they turnaround Save Mart (which has already started prior to the purchase) the way Cerebrus turned around Albertsons, I could see Ralphs b...

Re: Walmart Arson Attack By Shoplifters: Total Loss
This was the Stevenson/880 Walmart. The Osgood/680 Walmart is fine, but probably overwhelmed and will be for some time. I believe Osgood has taken on the pharmacy customers from Stevenson.
