Re: Macys Stores Closing by 2026

If they close all the stores on this list, they will continue to lose sales. With no stores in a market, they've admitted online sales shrink as well so they will lost that revenue. Looking at the three Oregon stores on the list that I am most familiar with. Closing the Bend store in a fast-growing ...

Many Walmart stores on the west coast are poorly run. Dirty, poorly stocked, employees who don't care. If Walmart steps up their game, they could increase market share but some of the worst Walmart stores I've seen are out west.

Re: Target Rolls 10 item "Express Self Checkout" Nationwide

Was the at the Wilsonville, OR Target. Two staffed checkstands open, at least 15 people in line for self-checkout. Where is this increased staffing they promised? Come on Target, just add more than 4 self-checkout stands. 8-12 self checkout stands should be the minimum plus staffed registers.

Re: Subway Switches To Pepsi For 10 Years From Coke

I've seen some Subway units who have the soda fountain machine with a sign posted that says either no refills or want an extra fee for refills. I think I've seen some who serve liquor too. Cannot remember where. Several years back, I visited a Subway in the Portland area (I don't remember where) wh...

Re: Sears & Kmart 2024: Will someone please put them out of their misery?

Sears is installing new cash registers at the store in Whittier. Completely new hardware and software. I'm sure it is some vendor system but it is interesting they'd bother to do this. Given how well the current system works with liquidation sales I fail to see what the point is of installing a new...

Re: Chickfila to END "no antibiotics ever" chicken

Yes, the subject line is correct. This chain made a pledge to sell chicken with "no antibiotics ever" in 2014. It is now ending that pledge. The new pledge is something about no antibiotics important to human medicine. Whatever that means. And whoever concludes what constitutes "impo...

Re: Trader Joe's adding another store in Oregon

Moving into a former Dollar Tree location between a Walmart Neighborhood Market and an Ace Hardware, which is just about perfect for Trader Joes (another in our area is also attached to an Ace). This is the core retail area for this part of the Milwaukie - Oak Grove - Gladstone ... and even Oregon ...

Re: HOT Portland Division Safeway - Albertsons ad

For a change of pace, the ad effective for March 20 - March 26, 2024 has a lot of decent offers. Highlights Fridays still remain a "Frenzy" here instead of $5 Friday like it was for years (even pre-ACI), but a 12 oz. bag of organic coffee at $4 is a very :!: low price. Many items in the a...

Re: Fast Food chains focusing on apps while menu prices skyrocket

My issue is that app orders are often screwed up. And the restaurant staff is either unable or unwilling to fix it. I've challenged many app charges on my credit card successfully so at least we have that recourse.
