Re: Tabletop tablets in chain restaurants

I don't remember when I first started seeing these, but I remember it did seem they took a lot of space. So far I have seen these at Chilis and Olive Garden. I don't believe I have seen any at Outback Steakhouse or Red Lobster, but I don't go to them very often. On the ads on the screen I was just t...

Michaels Stores offering UPS services

Just noticed a sign for this today while walking by. Kind of surprised to see them offering this, but I hope they keep it going. I really like the FedEx drop off and pick up at Walgreens, so I think this is a great idea for UPS. Especially since we don't have a UPS store here. https://www.globenewsw...

Re: McDonald's drive thru setup

Most of my local McDonald's stores were built in the 1970s and 1980s have been demolished and rebuilt, and since then, those locations have remodeled to their newest prototype. The last time I ordered McDonald's from a drive through (in Waco, which was a late 1990s/early 2000s store remodeled into ...

Re: Is the end near at Sears?

I heard the Sears in Aberdeen, WA is finally closing. Should have been put out of its misery years ago. Also some curious Kmart closures, again. Well maybe it isn't so curious when there are about 200 Kmarts left and 80 appear to be slated for closure, 40% of the chain closing doesn't give a store ...

McDonald's drive thru setup

Have noticed the newer and remodeled McDonald's in my area all have the double speaker setup. These restaurants have ordering and pickup windows, and a second pickup window out in the dining room. At one location here have been asked at times to drive up to the second pickup window when there was a ...

Re: Is the end near at Sears?

Just read in another thread the Sears Outlet stores are being sold to Liberty Tax. When our local Sears closes in October there will be none left in the area aside from the small hometown style stores. Really think the end is near this time.

Re: New self checkouts at Home Depot

The garden center checkouts at Lowe's and Home Depot are only open when the gates are open. After summer, they tend to sometimes only have these gates open on the weekends. As for the lumber end, I have seen several instances at Lowe's where the checkouts are closed, yet the lumber desk is staffed ...

Re: New self checkouts at Home Depot

It reminds me back a number of years ago all the way back to 2006 checking out at Home Depot. We were buying some things for a remodel and when I scanned a 6 foot piece of baseboard the machine kept saying to "please bag the item". There was no "I don't want to bag this item" option then, so I just ...

I wonder if their lease agreements will allow for this. Typically malls do not sell "used" products.
It seems common for malls here to have video game stores that sell used retro game cartridges, and Gamestops sell used games and consoles. So I don't know.

Re: J.C. Penney hires former Shopko executive to aid turnaround
